From 14h in the Metso restaurants we will host a Women's Community Gathering.
A welcoming space to connect, exchange experiences, and strengthen the presence of women in the cloud-native community. The session is designed for open conversations, networking, and building meaningful connections in a supportive environment. The goal of this gathering is to create a dedicated space for Women in Cloud Native fostering peer connection, mentorship, and collaboration, while supporting a more inclusive ecosystem where more women can grow and take on leadership roles. Women in Cloud Native is part of the Merge Forward Working Group; a CNCF Technical Community Group focused on empowering cloud-native contributors from underrepresented groups. While centered on women and underrepresented voices, the gathering is open to everyone; including allies and anyone interested in equality and inclusion in tech.
On the day before the conference, May 19, we will have three workshops at Aalto Startup Sauna / Design Factory, space B110 (Puumiehenkuja 5A, 02150 Espoo). Workshops are free for the ticket holders of KCD Helsinki 2026, but requires registration as an add-on when getting your normal KCD ticket. Workshops and timings as follows:
- Running LLMs on top of Kubernetes 9:30 - 12:00
- Lunch 12:00 - 13:00
- Managing Kubernetes clusters declaratively with Cluster API 13:00 - 15:00
- Hacking Kubernetes: Capture-the-flag (CTF) challenge 13:00 - 15:00
Are you working on a PhD, MSc, or BSc related to cloud, Kubernetes, or cloud native tech? This is your chance to share your research with the community. We are opening our Poster Session, a space to present your ideas, get feedback, and connect with both researchers and industry professionals.
