========================

As more organizations look to move away from vendor lock-in, maintain data sovereignty, and achieve cost predictability, private cloud is making a strong comeback and it can be built entirely with open-source tools.

In this session, Guilherme Steinmüller from VEXXHOST walks through how to build and operate a production-grade private cloud using a 100% open-source stack including OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, Prometheus, and Grafana — all deployed and managed using Atmosphere, an open-source OpenStack distribution.

You'll see a live demo of spinning up Kubernetes clusters on OpenStack using Magnum, with Cluster API managing the lifecycle under the hood. We'll also cover Day 2 operations – monitoring, upgrades, and scaling, and share key lessons learned from running this in production.

Whether you're evaluating private cloud options or already operating one, this session will give you a practical, real-world look at what a fully open-source infrastructure stack looks like from bare metal to running workloads.
